This Privacy Policy explains how GURAX LLC (“GURAX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Chorebel mobile apps for iOS and Android (the “App”) and the websites at chorebel.com and choreregistry.com (the “Website”), together the “Service.”
The short version
- We collect as little as we can. To use Chorebel you need a display name and a 4-digit PIN. Your PIN never leaves your phone. An email address is optional. It lets you restore your account on a new phone, and you need one to start a household.
- Children don’t give us contact details. A parent or guardian enters a child’s first name and age range when inviting them in person. We don’t collect a child’s email, phone number or location.
- Chores are private. A chore is visible only to the person who created it and the people it was offered to. The database enforces this, not just the app’s screens.
- No ads, no trackers, no selling. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics in the App or on the Website. We don’t sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- You’re in control. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing support@gurax.ai.

3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the Service. This means creating and securing your account, delivering chores to the right people, keeping the points ledger, sending notifications and restoring your account when you ask.
- Keep the Service safe. This includes preventing abuse and fraud, enforcing rate limits and investigating security incidents.
- Support you. We answer questions and fix problems you report.
- Run the beta and announce the launch. We send beta invitations (through Apple TestFlight or Google Play testing) and launch news to people who asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Improve Chorebel. We use aggregated, non-identifying information about how features are used, and feedback you send us.
- Meet legal obligations. We respond to lawful requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use personal information for advertising. We don’t build marketing profiles, and we never profile children.
4. Children’s privacy
Chorebel is a family app, and children are among the people who use it. We designed it to collect as little about them as possible.
- Parental involvement. A child under 13 can join Chorebel only when a parent or guardian in their household invites them in person. The adult enters the child’s first name and age range, and consents while showing the invitation code. We record that consent: who gave it and when.
- What we collect from a child. A first name (entered by the adult), an age range, the chores and points the child takes part in, and any content the child adds, such as a note or a photo attached to a chore. We don’t collect a child’s email address, phone number or location, and we don’t show a child advertising.
- Visibility. A child’s chores are visible only to the people each chore involves.
- Parents’ rights. A parent or guardian can ask to review a child’s information, ask us to delete it, or refuse further collection. To do this, email support@gurax.ai. We’ll take reasonable steps to confirm you are the child’s parent or guardian before acting.
- The Website is intended for adults. Beta signup requires you to confirm you are 18 or older. If we learn that we collected a child’s information through the Website, we will delete it.
5. How information is shared
Within your household. A chore, its counter-offers, notes, photos and rewards are shared only with the people that chore involves. Household organizers manage membership, but they don’t get access to chores they weren’t part of.
Service providers that process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Amazon Web Services (United States): hosting, databases, file storage, authentication and email delivery.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service and Amazon Device Messaging: delivering push notifications.
- Apple (App Store and TestFlight) and Google (Google Play): distributing the App and beta builds, and processing any future in-app purchases under their own terms.
Legal and safety. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or GURAX.
Business transfers. If GURAX is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. This policy will continue to protect it.
We don’t sell personal information and we don’t “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
6. How long we keep information
- Account and household data is kept while your account is active. When a member is removed from a household, they keep read-only access to their history there. Points-ledger entries are a permanent record while the household exists.
- Beta signups are kept until the beta ends and the App launches, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Contact and support messages are kept for as long as we need them to help you and keep reasonable records, generally no more than 24 months.
- Server and security logs are generally kept for about 30 days.
When you ask us to delete your information, we delete it or make it permanently non-identifying. The exceptions are information we must keep to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent abuse.
7. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, database-level privacy rules that limit each person to the chores they’re part of, and credentials kept in your phone’s secure storage. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Please keep your PIN private. Add a verified email so your account can be recovered if your phone is lost. Without one, an account can’t be restored.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information or your account;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it;
- port your information to another service; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email support@gurax.ai from the address associated with your account or signup, or tell us your display name and household so we can find you. We’ll verify your request before acting on it. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows. To stop beta and launch emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to us.
California residents: the categories of information we collect are described in Section 2, our purposes in Section 3, and the categories of recipients in Section 5. We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
EEA and UK residents: we process personal information to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (keeping it secure and improving it), with your consent (beta and launch emails), and to meet legal obligations. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. International users
Chorebel is operated from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy as Chorebel evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll notify you in the App or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
